Blizzard (mc mf ff) (1 new chapter)  by Redsliver
When Gene treats a strange visitor to better hospitality than she thinks she’s worth, she overcompensates him with three beautiful co-ed princesses. Auditors have been notified of the discrepancy.

I've been enjoying this one a lot too, though I have a feeling more drama is on the way, even without the new time limit.

Thanks, I'm very proud of it. Even though you feel it coming, I hope you like the drama on the way.

The Signal

Not a lot here for me in truth. Incest, and the humiliation aspect of the dog stuff, and the arrest just left me cold. I'm sure there will be fans for this author, more into this sort of thing, but I probably wont be bothering with this author again, after 2 complete misses.
No rating, taste issues

Based on other stories I've read on this site, I'm not alone with a taste for these sorts of stories.  If you didn't like these two then you probably won't like the next few I have in my roster.  They are all different in their own ways but have some similar themes.  Those of you who do like this stuff, I hope you enjoy it.

They are well written, so I would be very surprised if there arent more than a few fans for your stuff, just not my personal thing, thats all
I actually posted this story on Archive of Our Own a few months before posting it here.  As of this post it has over 13,000 views and 132 kudos.  Definitely is an audience out there.  Wasn't sure if that audience extended to here.

As I said, tastes vary wildly, and all I can base my reviews on, are my own. There will be an audience at EMCSA for sure, just not me.

Her Mother’s Daughter (mc ff in) (new)  by Writer345
A mother seeks help dealing with an abusive daughter.

> Interesting enough setting. I haven't read all too much of UK socialites and its really refreshing to see the portrayal here. I think it has promise but there is an overabundance of colons here that aren't all correctly used. It takes me a bit out of the flow of it.

Mad Monday (mc mf in) (2 new chapters)  by Pan
After swapping bodies with their teenage daughter, Andrew’s wife finds it hard to handle the hormones.

> It's good seeing Mad Monday and the effect teen hormones has on a sexually experienced woman. It has solid moral degeneration elements on both the husband/wife. It also feels fairly refreshing seeing such a reluctance to it all.

Taming Tess (mc mf md in) (1 new chapter)  by MindSpark
A father using hypnosis to treat his daughter’s bad behavior slowly succumbs to temptation.

> Definitely enjoying the... hmmm... 'consumption of the prize.' I'm really liking the darker tones from the MC and it's fairly satisfying seeing his goals come to fruition. That said... is it done? It feels like it's done. I can't exactly tell but the last few lines of it feels like a "this is everything I ever wanted" feel. The lack of a 'the end' or clearer ending is leaving me in this weird state. Is it not done? Are there more? I honestly have no idea.

This Is Our Story (mc mf md) (1 new chapter)  by Ice Bear
Connor, the editor-in-chief of the high school yearbook, discovers that edits he makes to the yearbook come true in real life.

> Enjoying this and it has a strong premise. I wanna see how he'll be using this more, but the MC seems too... overall friendly for this all to go in an interesting direction. The two foreshadowing elements of the antagonist dude and the teacher might end up somewhere... But I feel anything antagonist dude said kinda got waved off cause Conner was getting his dick sucked, and the main pathway for the MC to change into someone that changes other people is through the teacher cornering him. That said, it's Ice Bear. Sooomething wild this way comes.

Thanks for pointing this out, I'll take more care in future stories, though please remember that UK and US English are quite different in many respects - I often find stories in US English difficult to read because of the spelling!

College Undercover -- same great stuff as before.  Solid writing and I'm really getting a kick out of the inner dialogue and how our heroine seems to be losing her way.... or finding her way.  :D

Gabby the Grey -- a good ending to a good story.  I'd rank it as "low end of enjoyable" because the MC wasn't very important to the tale and the romance/sex was rather unnecessary in the overall sense.  I kept waiting for bad things to happen, but the only really bad things were pretty tame when you consider we're talking about a queen running an entire nation.  No non-con sex.  No hidden triggers.  No embarrassing proclivities popping up out of thin air.  A good read, especially now that it's finished and you can breeze through from beginning to end, and I'd recommend it to anyone that likes period pieces.

Editing Reality -- a long read due to repeating the same scene through the eyes of the various characters.  Fun, juvenile, nonsensical.... and I really love the unintended consequences.  Making it so he couldn't change someone more than once was a really devious notion!  The only problem is the constant sex and flip-flopping through the different POV's, which doubles the sex scenes without really adding anything to the arc of the story.

Stop Watch -- delightful.  Sticking with the single person POV makes for a very clean read, but it does leave the other characters rather two dimensional and hard to relate to.  I have no idea if the protagonist's corruption is simply the normal outcome of a human gaining that kind of power, or something inherent in the watch/power itself.  Maybe a little of both?  Either way, it's cranks up the heat.  Will we ever find out what's behind all this?  Will everything be okay?  Can the changes be undone?  Will things go too far?  I love the unintended bits, the oopses, that are sure to cause a lot more problems as the story unfolds.

This is Our Story -- very intriguing, especially now that he can't switch the two girls back.  What's going to happen next?  Will the editing program allow changes via text, or is it just a personality swap?  Excellent dialogue writing, imo, and the characters are really well done.  I'm hooked and hope it continues at this level.

Part 3

Accidental Hypnosis Turn Good

As the title would suggest, the whole story could do with a major grammar edit. There are a few words that are wrong (see above), but most of it relates to crazy use of personal pronouns, and the like. The story is pretty standard incest stuff, and the 2 main players are not likeable characters. So yes, all pretty much a miss for me. An edit, and incest fans might get something out of it, but otherwise...
No rating, taste and readability issues for me

Her Mother’s Daughter

Ah, more incest. ::) Thankfully in this case, I feel for the mother, dislike the daughter, and ff incest just doesnt squick me quite as much as mf, dont ask me why? Some good side characters here, and I could see Maud appealing to me, but anyway... Certainly looking forward to seeing more
High end of definitely enjoyed

This Is Our Story

Oh fine, I'm glad that one piece of planning went astray! I like the idea of reward for both, so could have done without the 'slut' stuff, but other than that... Fine, as the plain, butch looking old lady, I think she deserves the good looks!
High end of definitely enjoyed

Without A Sound

Something a little different, for sure. There are times I could do with being in that mute bubble, believe me! I did enjoy the way it all played out, and some amusing mind control moments too
Definitely enjoyed

Bimbo-Midas (mc mf ff md gr) (new)  by Doctor MC, Mad Scientist
A leprechaun gives Jimmy a ring that turns any woman whom Jimmy touches into a bimbo.

The Irish seem to have a big sense of humor, so I'm sure any reading this would not be a problem for them. Besides, us MC readers know what we're getting into! :P Anyway, the writing style felt a bit stilted to me, but it was both consistent and engrossing once I was used to it. I do wonder if the leprechaun was testing Jimmy with the gold in the first chap. I mean, a big plot hole in leprechaun stories is how they always claim to be obsessed with their gold, but always seem to be loosing it to the greedy human. At the same time, Jimmy being honest with the gold he found -- giving it back right away -- honestly (ironically?) led to a path we never get to see in these stories. I may not have liked Jimmy that much -- kinda a shallow guy with women, but he was genuinely honest and honorable. Maybe it was more than he deserved, but Jimmy deserved something for the honor he displayed. This was genuinely fun. It was reminiscent of the tongue-in-cheek (and everywhere else) plots in Golden Age porn, where those involved seemed to just be having fun in all the absurdity. I'll keep an eye out for more!

I'm wondering how my writing style is "stilted"—could you explain this, please?

Once I was reading a book that had summaries of children's stories from all over the world, and I noticed a common pair of tropes in these stories, which amazed me because many of the children's stories had to be independently created (meaning, no borrowing)—

1) A bad man does something bad to a "helpless" person because the bad man thinks he can get away with it; the "helpless" person is a powerful magic being, and the bad man is nastily punished. 2) A good man does something good to a "helpless" person just because it's the right thing to do; the good man expects no reward, but the "helpless" person is a powerful magic being, and the good man is magically rewarded.

I've used the "virtue is magically rewarded" trope in several of my stories—most notably Names Have Power and Three More Wishes—and I used it here in "Bimbo-Midas" too.

Three more chapters will be up next week.

"Stilted" was probably an overly aggressive description. I'm used to sort of a slower style in some ways, with often longer paragraphs. Lovecraft and sci-fi fantasy generally has that slower feel. Yours were short and quick, pacing things very quickly. Nothing wrong with how your story was written. I wouldn't be the first to say that Lovecraft and other sci-fi fantasy authors can get overly ponderous!  The faster pacing really was perfect for your story. :)

The tropes used in children's stories go back further than you might think - ancient Greek heroes were tested by Gods appearing as normal people with problems and then rewarded for aiding them, and those probably weren't the first appearances of that idea.

The ancient world traded widely, with trade goods turning up vast distances from their point of origin, and stories are even more portable than spices - and the half-millennium since the Age of Discovery has offered plenty of time for stories to spread, be adapted into local idiom, and seamlessly integrated into the verbal tradition even if their tropes hadn't spread before that.

It is, of course, also possible that the same tropes evolved independently in multiple places, from a common purpose of encouraging certain types of behaviour - rewarding virtue and punishing malice are generally pro-survival on the group level, if disadvantageous to individuals. I'm not saying that all versions of a given trope worldwide definitely borrow from a single common ur-version - just that you would need an unusual degree of isolation over thousands of years to prevent it being a possibility in any given instance.

Honestly, I'm a little scared.  I've tried to guess where a thousand stories are going, and I always end up wrong!

I hope there's a nipple-piercing scene, or the Madam tightens the screws a little more, or both..... but I'm not getting my hopes up.  :D

Final 4

Alterations: Bryan’s Dance

Havent been to a club in over a decade, but I could easily be tempted into this one. Who me, of course I'd wear a headset! Story is delightfully done, lots of sweetness, some great mind control scenes too. I just wondered if there was a silver light on that menu?
High end of definitely enjoyed

Gabby the Gray

Fine, loved the ending, but it was a brilliant way of getting there. Justice generally done, and no, I have no qualms about baddies dying that deserve it, like those 3 did! And fine, I loved who got to deal with them too.
High end of definitely enjoyed

(Yes, both are marked down, even if it might not look it! )

Positive Outcomes

Oh fine, this was entertaining too. So who wants to pay for me to be improved, lol? Alright, I smiled at a Carla sneaking in there too. Some clever changes, great story
High end of definitely enjoyed

Subroutine (Kallie)

Someone please tell me where I need to go to get this latex drone treatment, please! Loving the play between Lori, and Harper too. I hope we can wait a while to find out who done this, and why, and I'm not sure that Lori doesnt actually feel the same way too?
High end of definitely enjoyed

Thats it for this week, thanks as always to all authors this week, reviewed, or not

Betsy Visits River City

Sometime later today, I will stop laughing at the chaotic events at the end of this chapter. I'm sure Betsy will survive her journey into the woods. Fine, I have to mark down too, for the death here (I know I will get flak from Betsy for this), as I suspect that is beyond Joystick's abilities, all the same. Not that Fundamental would approve of that anyway, but... ::) Otherwise, as entertaining as ever.
Fine, I'll annoy her, high end of definitely enjoyed, because that last scene was a comedy gem! :P

Merry, you give a lot of your time to this forum in the form of your regular, inclusive, weekly reviews and you manage to include most stories in them. I would never give you flak for saying something negative about mine. I do value your efforts as well as you personally. Thank you for this review, especially for saying you laughed at it. That's the whole point as far as I'm concerned.

Betsy Visits River City (mc mf ff mm md fd ds bd gr be rb ts sc cb hu) (1 new chapter)  by Betsy Leohtar
Betsy finds herself in River City and is shocked to discover it’s infested with super heroes who will try to stop her doing her own lawful work.

This story continues to be crazy, but in interesting ways.

Thank you for reading grey shadow. I'm glad you find it crazy. I had a lot of fun writing it.

Betsy, you and I disagree totally about the need to kill off side characters, its part of life, lets face it. So fine, I almost expect gentle teasing about my marking down for that in truth. Oh, and thanks so much for the compliment too

Positive Outcomes

Oh fine, this was entertaining too. So who wants to pay for me to be improved, lol? Alright, I smiled at a Carla sneaking in there too. Some clever changes, great story
High end of definitely enjoyed

As always, thanks Merry.

My pleasure, your stories are usually good fun to read

The Goddess, the Stars, and Ice Cream (mc ff) (new)  by Trixie Adara
Sandra’s new VR headset has a strange effect on Masy.

The theme of using a VR headset, which I think is awesome, is not necessarily new for mind control stories. I'm sure even the 80s film Brainstorm with Christopher Walken was not even the first, albeit without eroticism. Of course, typing "VR headset MC porn" just leads, well, to underwhelming VR porn. There is certainly irony in that. Anyway, why can't VR be like this? You know, actually immersive! This was pretty fun from the start. At least I found myself visualizing the "real" world in tandem with the described "VR" world. Well, a glimpse of Sandra at one moment certainly helped! The best part was Masy's reaction at the end. This is what we should be finding when looking for VR MC.

I've been out of sorts lately, but before I get -too- far behind in my readings, I figured that I should try to do some catching up.

Betsy's Betsy Visits River City makes that catching up easy to do. Another fun chapter that crammed a zillion pages of action into only 2000 words! Glad to see that the bimbos are still around, I've grown rather fond of them.

Meanwhile, Gene's finally found a way to keep warm in his terribly drafty and rattly apartment in Blizzard. Three extra warm bodies really does chase the cold away, doesn't it? :-)  At least now we know why the weather has been so awful! Can't wait to see where this goes next.

SoVeryFascinated's Gabby the Gray wrapped up this week and man, if I could pull a Gene-style extension and get three more chapters out of this one, I would! Oh, to have Angela completely brainwashed and working unwittingly for the Seers... then again, Gabby is still quite the hypnotic subject, so perhaps we have not seen the last of her adventures.  :)  This was a great story, and I'm looking forward to reading more from the author.

(More to come as I try to catch up!)

Perfect for One Another

Fun short Rom-MC piece, even if I suspect not all plans by either were strictly of the sweet, romantic kind? As for what will happen by the end of the night, given the author's preferences, I suspect Sam might prefer submitting, to controlling! Definitely fun, and cute
High end of definitely enjoyed

Thank you. Yeah, it's definitely stated that romance wasn't exactly in the cards, especially for him. And yes, the author's preferences are well known at this point but who knows, really? If I ever get to write the night events between the two of them, there may be surprises in store.  ;)

Thanks Ferrum.  Carol's journey still has a little way to go.  Hope you like where it ends up.

Honestly, I'm a little scared.  I've tried to guess where a thousand stories are going, and I always end up wrong!

I hope there's a nipple-piercing scene, or the Madam tightens the screws a little more, or both..... but I'm not getting my hopes up.  :D

We'll certainly see more of the madam giving ... direction.
