The Internship and Thin as Paper, Thick as Blood are rocking my socks right now.

Thanks 321.  Next chapter will be sent in soon.  I hope it keeps on rocking.

What an amazing week of updates, not just Downing Street but Ice Bear, Quixerotic, TheHandsThatLead, Rawlyrawls, and that's just what I've read so far. The best update of the year.

Dude. This mention by the person who is hands down my favorite writer of the genre is probably gonna be my favorite gift this holiday season.

Thank you kindly! And yeah, this was mostly a setting-up-the-pieces chapter... *evil grin*

But what fun pieces to put on the board.

Adoring My Robot Overlord (mc ff ds sf) (new)  by Flying Decadent
A feisty young freedom fighter learns why no one escapes the Commonwealth, and why no one resists its beautiful and compelling dictator.

Love the benevolent-ish robot overlord stuff. I always dug the Rogue Servitor start in Stellaris for a machine empire where basically it's caretakers out of control, making everyone live a life of luxury - or else. Fun little story. This could plausibly have an HM tag as well, since I think people who like that would love this.

I'll second that, Quixerotic. I had my first stories posted early this year and it felt amazing.

It's nice to finally get some material on a website I've been reading for years.  Being mentioned by one of my favorite contributors is quite nice as a welcome.

This makes me so very happy! Welcome, quixerotic!

A couple of story reviews while I'm here:

More comic book fun awaits in Issue #3 of Cape City Chronicles! Our brainwashed heroine is just starting out on her new, re-aligned career path, while Lieutenant Alvarez continues to chip away at the case. If only she knew what was going on behind her back! This feels like a good setup for the next installment!

Thank you kindly! And yeah, this was mostly a setting-up-the-pieces chapter... *evil grin*

I'm enjoying this particular bit of conversation, thank you both.  I had my own thoughts on both Kat and Mouse and Dead of Night, with the former still one of my very favorite short stories in a long time.  Neither story felt overtly erotic but in the case of Kat and Mouse the sheer intensity more than made up for it - I don't know that a permeating sense of dread is or isn't erotic but it began to feel that way at least to me.  Dead of Night was didn't quite have the same intensity for me and I'm not sure why - it's occurred to me that the inclusion of the villain's perspective in the narrative might have done quite a lot to enhance the menace of Kat and Mouse; Dead of Night felt more like a mystery tale by comparison though I one I much enjoyed.
